Verified in-house

Every stone re-graded before it joins the feed.

A grading certificate is the start of the diligence, not the end. Every stone in the Carat feed is independently re-verified by a GIA-trained gemologist on our desk against its IGI or GIA report. Stones that fall short of their certificate are rejected.

What we re-verify

  • 4Cs against the certificate — carat weight, color, clarity, cut grade.
  • Polish, symmetry, and fluorescence consistency.
  • Measurements and depth/table proportions.
  • Face-up performance under controlled lighting (10x and 40x).
  • Inclusion mapping for VS-grade and lower stones.

Who does the work

Carat employs four GIA-graduate gemologists on staff. They are not commissioned and have authority to reject stones from the feed.

What we publish

Each PDP shows the certificate lab and links to the lab’s public verification tool, so you can confirm the certificate at the source. The desk note on each card is signed by the gemologist who reviewed the stone.
